P.4 Flowchart
After I finish Long Road I am planning on going to Bournemouth University to study Media Studies. As im studying Media studies I plan on making animation short films and include them onto my website so I can send it to people to watch and get my work out there. This will help me improve my work as it will be likely that I will receive some feedback on my own work which will make me aware of things that I wasn't before.
After I finish University I plan to have found my 'dream' job and try to get into it, however if I feel like I am not prepared or I cannot find a job in that sector I will try to develop my skills by making more short films and projects. I will be submitting my short films to film festivals.
I will also try find people (students at Bournemouth, or independent film makers from online websites) who are interested in the same projects as me to help me create projects to gain experience from them too.
In my personal audit I have made a list of equipment that i will be able to get from ebay such as tripod and cameras and so on. But f i get into Bournemouth i wont have to worry about buying all of this as i will be able to borrow this from the university and from contacts i will make while im attending university.
What I have:
- Camera
- Sound Recorder
- Laptop
- Editing software
What I can get/borrow
- Laptop (mac)
- Tripod
- Actors
- Crew
- Editing software
- Sound software
- Sound equipment
- Props - costumes etc
- More professional camera (cannon)
I could get all of those items from Ebay or just simply borrow it from friends who might have it or borrow it from college/university.
Contingency Plan:
If my plan does not work out, for example getting into bournemouth then I would go to my back up choice which is Manchester and that way I would get more experience in film as I will be doing Media and film.
If I dont gent into Manchester either then I would do the 'Clearance' on UCAS and see if i would into Anglia Ruskin or Teesside as they require less points than Manchester and Bournemouth.
If I cant get into any University because I didn't get the required points or because they don't have a place to offer me, then i would either take a year off making projects for myself and getting my portfolio and website ready. Then i would apply to universities again.
After University (if i got in) i would then find a job in the media industry and if that doesn't work out then i would apply for an apprenticeship/ work experience.
P3 - Personal Resources Audit
A rough number of what i would be spending would be £221.83 which is affordable for a camera, microphone, tripod and lighting.
Things I already have:
- Camera
- Sound recorder
- Editing software
- Computer
Things I can get/borrow/buy
- I could get a tripod and a more professional camera for a reasonable price on ebay and from Asda. And also borrow it from College/University/Contacts.
- I could also get a more professional voice recorder, with its equipment for better sound which i could buy it from Ebay or just borrow it from College/University/Contacts.
- I already have a computer but i could save up while I'm at uni and get a part time job and get a professional computer such as a mac as they are good with Premiere Pro and any other adobe softwares. They are also really reliable, which will help in the long run. But as i save up i could always borrow a mac from College/ university/ contacts
- I could borrow a camera from family members such as my auntie as she has a cannon, College/University and Contacts.
- I could also use the crew which i will be meeting at University and also get independent film makers from online websites who live near me to make films and submit them to film festivals. And I could always contact people from college who I have work with or who I know will be interested in creating projects with me.
